Welcome to Roseville Kindergarten

Roseville Kindergarten is a licensed multicultural Centre catering for up to 40 children aged between 3-6 years for 2-5 days per week. We provide a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment where children can become active learners, exploring and learning through a wide variety of experiences and activities each day.

We provide a varied program for all children based on the children’s interests, observations and family input. The Centre’s program incorporates the Emergent Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework. At our Centre we encourage family input into the program and believe in creating a strong link between the home and the Centre. The Centre has been assessed under the current National Quality Standards.

We have 2 classrooms in the Centre and each class is run by experienced and qualified Early Childhood Educators.

Please call to make an appointment to come in, meet us and see our Centre.

As we have been working through the stages of drawing with the children, we have moved toward representational drawings and interpretations. These talented preschoolers have been studying flowers closely, looking for shape, patterns, colours, size. They were then invited to sketch their ideas and chose the colours needed to create these masterpieces. 🎨 ... See MoreSee Less

As we strive to provide a program that is relevant to the children and families interests and lives outside of the preschool we take inspiration from the children’s activities within their family context and community. A lot of our families have been celebrating the Chinese celebration of the Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival, and shared exciting stories of the adventures and celebrations that they have had with their families. The Moon Festival is the second grandest festival in Chinese culture, after Lunar New Year. To celebrate, the children have been invited to the Roseville Kindy Yum Cha Restaurant 🥮🥮🥮🥟🥟🥟 ... We have been noticing the changes in the weather, but also the changes in our natural environment as we see flowers blooming and hearing more bird calls in the playground. As we talked about these changes we also learnt that in the D’harawal calendar, the Darramuragal people of this area refer to this time of year as Time of Ngoonungi, a time where flying foxes gather and bright red plants called Telopea speciosissima, or the NSW Waratah bloom. We learnt that the D’harawal calendar doesn’t have the four seasons we know about, but rather six that are based on changes in the natural environment, plant life, waterways, and animals. We have been reading this book by Aunty Munya Andrews and Charmaine Ledden-Lewis as in introduction to First Nations seasons. ... See MoreSee Less

Starting school can be exciting but also challenging. It can be a major life transition for both children and their families. School readiness is being re-imagined for many families and the early childhood education profession is cheering!

School readiness IS NOT about ...

-Lining up in a straight line.
-Counting to 100.
-Knowing the alphabet.
-Being able to sit on the mat for long periods of time.
What does the research show?

Ready schools + Ready families + Ready early childhood services + Ready communities = READY CHILDREN. (Dockett and Perry, 2014)

Ready children:
-have the learning and development that contribute to their enthusiasm, motivation and ability to learn;
-are supported by positive relationships from their family, preschool, school and community;
-have dispositions for learning such as problem-solving skills and persistence that help them stay focused on learning (Dockett & Perry, 2014).
